Use Your Gifts
God calls us into personal relationship through accepting Jesus as Savior and following Him as Lord. God desires that we grow in personal holiness and also social holiness, that is opening ourselves to the Holy Spirit that God may form us and use us. As we grow in and live out our faith God uses us as conduits of His love to help people experience God and kingdom living. We do so by putting our faith into action and giving to God our whole self, our time, talents, and finances for His glory and work.
To be a member of Grace UMC means you are dedicating yourself to be an active disciple of Jesus Christ with others in this faith community. When we take vows to join The United Methodist Church we vow to be active in our prayers and the spiritual practices of faith, we promise to be active with our presence, we promise to serve with our time and talents and to give of our finances for God's glory and work, and we promise to be a witness to the gospel message of Jesus Christ and of God's love.
The extensions of this page offer some of the current ways you can use the gifts that God has given you to support the ministry of His church.
Non-Monetary Swap
In the Fellowship Hall at the church there is a large red board with half sheets of paper, you are invited to fill them out and list what your needs are along with what you can offer. The goal is that people will post and frequently look over the board so they can connect with and help each other. An example might be that you can offer a ride to someone, or are able to offer the skill and labor for an oil change. Some needs might include a porch step that needs to be fixed, or help changing those hard to reach florescent light bulbs in the garage. So check the board and see where you can connect with others in our faith community.
